![]() Year: 1980 Country: Denmark Actors and Actresses: Bror Bødtker-Næss, Christian Honoré, Katinka Bødtker-Næss Tags: boy skinny dip Review: This movie is very funny in its originality. It is a film about evil "froesnappere" and "bitte lorte". It is the meaning of the word childhood, and a magical journey into the heart of a child. It flows great in a happy mood all the way; not very much action and all these things movies have to content today. It is the best movie for children ever made. - TorX0029, IMDb Movie added at: 31.08.2013 |

![]() Year: 2001 Country: Greece Actors and Actresses: Fragiski Moustaki Tags: bathing boy Review: Writer Georgios Vizyenos is admitted to a mental asylum in Athens at the end of the 19th century, in large part the result of his passionate but loving obsession for a 12-year-old girl named Bettina. Reality and fiction are confused in his mind. He struggles to recall memories from his childhood in Constantinople and Thrace and reads through his earlier published literary work, which he had based on those memories. The main focus of his reminiscences is his grandfather, who spent the first 10 years of his life disguised as a girl. His family was obliged to hide their child's gender to protect him from being forced to serve in the Turkish army. Vizyenos's psyche, we learn, has been powerfully influenced by his grandfather - the grim fate he avoided and the way he lived the rest of his life in fairy tales and dreams. This juxtaposition of hopes and fears, secrets and imagination, informed the whole of Vizyenos' work. - www.hollywood.com Movie added at: 31.08.2013 |

![]() Year: 1966 Country: Soviet Union Actors and Actresses: Lev Vaynshteyn, Viktor Perevalov, Slava Golubkov, Aleksandr Kavalerov Review: Dedicated director Viktor Nikolayevich Sorokin (Sergei Yursky) tries to help a school of orphans change from juvenile delinquents into productive members of society in this engaging children's comedy. His efforts are met with resistance before he manages to get through to the rebellious children. The kids battle the adults with hilarious hi-jinx before they heed the lessons taught by the director. The story was written by two former students who benefited from their stay at the institution, but the film fails to represent the accuracy of the book. The title of the feature is an abbreviation for the school that was named in honor of Fedor Dostoyevsky. The film is significant because of the lack of heavy-handed ideology that permeates many Soviet features of the era. - Dan Pavlides, All Movie Guide Movie added at: 31.08.2013 |

![]() Year: 1991 Country: France Actors and Actresses: Laurent Monnier, Philippe Maron, Edouard Joubeaud, Fanny Lebreton, Julien Mitard, Rody Averty, Hélène Pors, Jérémie Bader, Marie-Sidonie Benoist, Clément Delaroche Review: Agnes Varda's 1991 tribute to her late husband, Jacques Demy--Varda's fellow pioneer in the French New Wave movement of the 1950s and early 1960s--is a moving combination of reenacted scenes from Demy's fanciful childhood, clips from his movies (The Umbrellas of Cherbourg, Donkey Skin), and filmed interviews with him shortly before he passed away. Varda's efforts lead to a touching and evocative portrait of a man who saw, even as a boy, no distinction between his imagination and the more magical traditions of theater and film. The cast of unknown actors portraying Demy and other people in reconstructions of his memories are very good, and the interesting tension between the function of these scenes as storytelling and their inclusion in Varda's larger biographical essay instantly recalls the intensely personal nature of Demy's own lush, ambitious experiments behind the camera. A girl (Jonna Liljendahl) of about nine years of age is the focus. Watch her as she hangs out with her friends, tries to understand boys, gets in trouble with her parents, and a lot more. Thoroughly charming as well as entertaining. - CVMC Movie added at: 31.08.2013 |

![]() Year: 1972 Country: Italy, Spain Actors and Actresses: Lara Wendel Review: The plot revolves around a series of murders committed by an unknown assailant intent on keeping the deaths of a small child and her father unsolved. As is the case with most gialli, there's a detective one step behind the murderer, a lush and creepy music score (this time by Morricone), a houseful of suspects, creative and illogical murders, and a downbeat and melancholy plot. What elevates this one above all the others made in that banner year for the genre (1971), though, is the detail given to the script and production. The characters are all fully formed and functional to the story, which itself is well thought-out and clever. The resolution is well-handled, and even if the killer's identity is impossible to guess beforehand, the means in which he (or she) is finally discovered will make you smile. Add to this one of the saddest musical-score main themes in movie history, featuring a woman's voice singing a haunting child's melody, and you have a giallo that fans of the genre should definitely not miss.
